So cool. They’re like freggin’ tanks. I read somewhere that the Presidential Limos actually carry pints of the President’s blood in case of emergency. I carry pints of my own blood around, but that’s just for dramatic effect should I get into a fender-bender.

President Obama came to Allentown last week to visit a bunch of small businesses as his first stop on his “Main Street Tour” of America. I happen to work at a television production company only one half-mile away from his first stop, so naturally the whole area was on lock down. They halted traffic on small streets and major highways, stopped trains, and also, (rumor) welded the manhole covers down on streets he was to use. When he passed by my work early in the morning I wasn’t prepared for how fast his caravan would speed by, so I only got one shot. This picture is from later that day when he visited the Hamilton Family Restaurant for lunch (I took an extended lunch break to play paparazzi). There are usually two Presidential Limo’s on any excursion, which are totally bad-ass, but with their super-thick glass they make taking pictures of the President kind of difficult. This is the only one where you can kind of make him out. Anyway, as an Obama supporter and volunteer during the campaign, it was fun trying to catch a glimpse of the guy I helped put in office.

Some people may believe in that archaic notion of erring on the side of caution when it comes to utilizing the filling station, but those silly folk have a lot to learn. See, adaptive procrastinators such as myself wait until the last possible second/last possible mile, thereby leaving more room in the tank (and increasing productivity!) for when we do fill up. This allows us to make fewer trips to the gas station, unlike those poor suckers who waste tons of time at the Shell station or what have you every time the level hits a quarter tank.

Nice to see I’m not alone! In my car, the empty zone comprises of 3 red dashes; the engine will run for a solid 10mins (@55 mph) with the needle extended past the third. So to those occasional passengers who find this practice imprudent, may this post disarm any concern, you’re in safe hands.
